Digital video routers interconnect a wide array of video sources. For this application, National offers chipset solutions for both SD (standard definition) and HD (high definition) data rates that meet SMPTE specifications. These systems typically have a matrix size of 32x32 and below and are used for smaller video projects. The user interface consists of a keypad and display connected to a microcontroller, which also allows configuration through a standard serial interface.

Component Highlights

*Crosspoint Switch - Utilizes Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) technology for low-power, high-speed operation. Data paths are fully differential from input to output for low noise generation and low pulse width distortion.

*Reclocker - Automatic rate selection to recognize and automatically adjust to up to 4 different data rates.

*Cable Driver - Drives high data rate signals on coaxial cables.

*Adaptive Cable Equalizer - Automatic cable equalization of coaxial
cables. Superior jitter performance
