Ethernet switches have been widely used for years in small offices, homes, and large corporations as a simple and cost-effective way to connect networking devices such as PCs, printers, and servers. Most switches do not require software to be installed or any set-up procedures, and they offer instant connectivity. These Ethernet switches provide high-performance interconnectivity through low-cost copper cabling (CAT5) and can automatically adjust to straight or cross-over configurations. Some systems offer simple feature management (e.g. VLAN, broadcast limit, link aggregation, port configuration) through a console port or through a Web-based configuration menu. National enables network connectivity by providing data conversion, power management, and Gigabit Ethernet solutions.
