Dual analog PC TV reference design

Comprising all hardware and software, this dedicated dual PC TV solution is a complete reference design featuring our dual PCI Express A/V decoder. It enables fast-to-market introduction of a Microsoft BDA compliant solution that is easily integrated into Direct Show applications.

Supporting simultaneous reception of dual analog live TV transmissions or S-Video / CVBS baseband video capture, this complete PC TV solution is the ideal way for you to offer consumers greater functionality. Viewers can watch one channel while recording another, or access two channels at the same time as PiP or split screen. It’s the high bandwidth of PCI Express that opens the door to more feature-packed solutions, while the reference design helps you create winning products, simply and quickly.

Based on Philips’ dual PCI Express A/V decoder SAA7162, the reference system delivers many benefits to help you achieve rapid time-to-market. Universal broadcast video and stereo decoding capability simplifies logistics and enables more cost-effective development of advanced, scalable products. The solution contains all hardware and software (drivers and stack) running on Linux as well as Windows 98/ME/2000/XP. The software drivers are compatible with Microsoft Broadcast Driver Architecture (BDA), allowing straightforward integration into applications based on DirectShow.
