 Headsets using Bluetooth® technology give consumers the convenience of talking on their mobile phones without the phone held to their ear or the clutter of wires from todays headsets. With Nationals Simply Blue family of modules, engineers can design in a fully-integrated, easy-to-use Bluetooth solution that meets their application-specific needs. National rounds out the headset solution with a variety of audio and power products. Component Highlights * Bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2 - certified radio transceiver in a tiny LLP® package integrates antenna filter, switch, receiver, and transmitter with the VCO onto a single die. * Audio codec - provides a high-quality audio path and includes the analog-intensive functions of the AC97 Rev 2 architecture. * Audio amplifiers - small stereo Boomer® amplifier maximizes output power. * Buck switching regulators - high-efficiency SIMPLE SWITCHER® converters and synchronous controllers are cost-effective, reliable, power-saving solutions. 1 Simply Blue Featuring highly integrated radio and baseband processors, the Simply Blue modules represent today’s leading-edge Bluetooth wireless technology. Due to their low power consumption and exceptionally small footprints (10.1 x 14 x 2.0 mm), the modules are ideally suited for battery-powered, portable applications. The Simply Blue modules provide metal-can shielding and radio front-end filtering for effective immunity to close proximity radio noise (frequently present in today’s portable devices). Bluetooth V1.1 compliant, the modules support in-field upgrades and/or functionality enhancements. The first in a line of Simply Blue products, the LMX9820A Serial Port Module, is designed to significantly reduce the design complexity and cost-of-adoption for applications using Bluetooth technology for UART serial port (RS-232) data connectivity. To simplify and accelerate the design cycle, Nationals Simply Blue modules are supported by a comprehensive development suite including demo boards, example source code, and detailed echnical support documentation. Currently, National is specifying and developing additional modules for the Simply Blue product family.
