NXP entry-level Nexperia STB system solution STB100 Turnkey set-top box solutions for DVB-S, DVB-C and DVB-T broadcasts NXP STB100 T21 reference board is the first full digital terrestrial system-level solution to have passed the NorDig 1.0.3 verification test process. The NorDig 1.0.3 compliance will ensure that the STB100 reference board is capable of spectacular digital reception and offers OEMs a simple, well-designed, affordable set-top box solution. For consumers, NXPs validated STB100 will, in turn, deliver superior picture and sound quality on mainstream set-top-boxes. NXPs STB100 T21 reference board incorporates the highly integrated silicon tuner TDA18211, state-of-the-art channel decoder for digital terrestrial reception - TDA10048, and the Nexperia MPEG source decoder, PNX8300 - all of which combined fulfill the RF performance requirements under the NorDig Unified Specification 1.0.3. tested and verified in Teracoms laboratory in Sweden. Ideal for mainstream free-to-air or pay television, the STB100 is a dedicated solution for single-channel digital STB ‘Zapper Boxes’ and iDTV systems.  The STB100 is based on the Nexperia MPEG source decoder PNX8300, highly integrated silicon tuners such as the TDA18211 (or tuner can), TDA8262 or TDA8274, and state-ofthe- art channel decoders for terrestrial (TDA10048), satellite (TDA10086) and cable (TDA10023) reception.Whichever option you choose, the comprehensive package also includes a validation board and 3rd-party software stacks including a GUI application and a UI customization tool. Nexperia source decoder PNX8300 The STB100 is based on the PNX8300 family, which provides dedicated solutions for single-channel digital STB ‘Zapper Boxes’ and iDTV systems. Ideal for entry-level applications such as free-to-air or pay television, the PNX8300 supports all DVB/MPEG-2 compliant transmissions. It delivers excellent STB performance thanks to its 32-bit MIPS CPU. Furthermore, a dedicated transport RISC-based demultiplexer engine and DVB descrambler meet most DVB pay-TV specifications and leave the CPU free to handle other tasks.
